President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent a letter of condolence to the people of the United States of America in connection with the numerous victims of the shooting in Lewiston, Maine.

“It is with great pain that we in Belarus received the news about the numerous victims of the merciless shooting in Lewiston, Maine,” the letter of condolence says.

The Head of State emphasized that Belarus strongly condemns any forms and manifestations of terrorism and extremism, as well as the lack of proper control over the circulation of weapons, which caused another tragedy, the 565th and the most terrible and massive in the United States in 2023. In total, more than 25 thousand innocent Americans became victims of such acts this year. “These are lives that could and should have been saved,” said the President.

On behalf of all Belarusians and on his own behalf, Alexander Lukashenko expressed his sincere condolences and words of support to the families of the deceased and the people of the United States, as well as wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
