Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus O.Kravchenko visits the State of Utah


On March 29, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, visited the State of Utah. 

During the visit, O.Kravchenko took part in the official ceremony of inauguration of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Utah, Dennis Neuenschwander. 

The representatives of the state Government, Legislative Assembly, major universities and companies, clergy, prominent public figures also took part in the event. 

In his address to the participants, O.Kravchenko noted long-standing links between Belarus and Utah, expressed interest in a closer partnership with the State in the areas of mutual interest. 

Specific issues of cooperation of Belarus and Utah in political and trade spheres were discussed during the meetings of the Deputy Foreign Minister with the member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah, Chris Stewart, leadership of both chambers of the State’s Legislative Assembly, of Utah International Trade Commission and Office of Economic Development. 

O.Kravchenko addressed the group of professors and students of The University of Utah with a speech on Belarus and its role in the region. Steps to implement joint programs with the leading Belarusian universities were discussed.

At the meeting with the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Russell Nelson, prospects of joint work in promoting family values, educational and humanitarian cooperation were discussed.
