Online registration for foreign travelers

With a view to promoting tourist attractiveness of Belarus, making Belarus more open to the world, softening migration rules and making all procedures as convenient as possible for tourists and visitors, Belarus has allowed foreign nationals to register online.

Since January 2, 2019 foreign nationals and stateless persons who are temporarily staying in Belarus are able to register online on the portal of electronic services, portal.gov.by, without having to personally visit a local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department in the district where they are staying.

Online registration is available for foreigners who arrive in Belarus only through the international checkpoints on the Belarusian border.

Foreigners who arrived in Belarus by crossing the Russia-Belarus border must personally visit the local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department at the district where they are staying in Belarus and get registered there.

Registration can be done through a personal computer, a mobile phone or any other device with access to the Internet. In order to get registered, foreigners must create an account on the website using their e-mail address. After that, they should choose this service in the Citizenship and Migration category and fill in an online application. The registration will be completed when a user receives a message confirming that he/she is registered at the indicated address in Belarus. Online registration of a foreigner can also be done by his (her) representative from their personal account.

In line with the Tax Code of the Republic of Belarus, foreigners are exempted from paying a fee for online registration.

At the same time, foreign nationals and stateless persons will still be able to get registered in person at a local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In such cases, a fee will be charged.

However, to extend the registration, foreign nationals and stateless persons should personally visit a local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department in the district where they are staying.
